Cyclist critically injured in collision with car in Hudson

HUDSON — A cyclist was critically injured after a collision with a car at the intersection of Library Street and Connell Street on Friday at 4:35 p.m., according to Hudson Police.

Hudson Police and Fire personnel responded to the scene where they, along with witnesses, administered life-saving measures to the injured male cyclist.

He was subsequently transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester, where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit.

The initial investigation revealed that a Chevy Malibu was stopped in traffic, waiting to turn left onto Connell Street from Library Street.

As northbound traffic on Library Street stopped to allow the Chevy to turn, the cyclist, who was traveling north in the shoulder of the road, collided with the passenger side of the vehicle.

Authorities reported that the cyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors in the collision.

The crash remains under investigation, and the names of those involved have not been released.
