FALL RIVER — In a collaborative effort between local and state law enforcement agencies, a Fall River man was taken into custody on May 2.

Leon Shelby, 34, was arrested by the Fall River Police Department’s Special Operation Division in conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section.

Shelby’s arrest stems from an outstanding warrant where he faces charges as an accessory after the fact.

The arrest is a result of the ongoing partnership between the Fall River Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police, bolstered by the Project Safe Neighborhood grant, which aims to reduce violent crime in communities.

Further details about the case or the specifics of the charges against Shelby have not been released.
