LYNDON — Vermont State Police arrested 36-year-old Troy Prevost early Thursday morning for allegedly violating an abuse prevention order less than an hour after it was served.

Troopers served the order on Prevost on April 30.

However, authorities say Prevost breached the conditions of the order shortly after.

Following the violation, Prevost was taken into custody and transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in St. Johnsbury for processing.

Prevost, a resident of Lyndon, was lodged at the Northeast Correctional Complex on $500 bail.

The Vermont State Police have not released further details regarding the nature of the initial abuse prevention order or the specific actions that constituted its violation.
