SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Police Officers on Tuesday arrested 20-year-old Chantz Dudley after he turned himself in at around 11:30 a.m. at 50 State Street on two outstanding firearm warrants.

Dudley was then taken to the Springfield Police Headquarters where he was booked before being arraigned in Springfield District Court later that afternoon.

The arrest stems from an incident on March 11, when a disturbance at the High School of Science and Technology led to Dudley allegedly firing a shot in the school hallway.

The Springfield Police School Resource Officer reported the incident at approximately 2:10 p.m. No one was injured by the gunfire, although a victim was struck during the disturbance.

An investigation revealed that Dudley, accompanied by Dana Dudley, Josiah Livingston, and a juvenile female student, forced their way into the school after a teacher opened a door to instruct them to leave the premises.

Following the shooting, Livingston was arrested inside the school on Assault & Battery charges relating to the incident.

On March 13, Springfield Police, led by Captain Duda, obtained an arrest warrant for Chantz Dudley.

Dana Dudley was subsequently detained by school staff, who also confiscated a knife Dudley was allegedly carrying.

After initially fleeing the scene, Chantz Dudley was arrested on March 19, booked at the Chicopee Police Department, and later at Springfield Police Department.

A judge set his bail at $75,000 and revoked his bail on an unrelated case for 90 days.

Chantz Dudley, a Hartford resident, is facing multiple charges, including Armed Breaking and Entering, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, and Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Building.

He also had a Default Warrant for a previous firearms incident in September.

Dana Dudley, 45, of Chicopee, is charged with Carrying a Dangerous Weapon on School Grounds and Armed Breaking and Entering.

Josiah Livingston, 22, of Hartford, Conn., faces charges of Assault & Battery and Armed Breaking and Entering.
