Search underway for missing Huntington man last seen leaving home

HUNTINGTON — Vermont State Police issued a call for public assistance Saturday morning after a Huntington man was reported missing from his residence on Main Road.

Raymond E. Phelps, 49, was last seen leaving his home in a 2011 blue Mazda 3, with his intended destination unknown.

The vehicle was later found unoccupied in South Burlington, raising concerns for Phelps’ safety and well-being.

Authorities have not determined what direction Phelps may have traveled or his current location.

A photograph of Phelps has been circulated in hopes that members of the public might recognize him and provide information leading to his whereabouts.

The Vermont State Police Williston Barracks, who received the notification of Phelps’ disappearance at 9:32 a.m., is spearheading the search efforts.

They urge anyone with information that could assist in locating Phelps to contact them immediately at 802-878-7111.
