POWNAL — A woman was cited for providing false information to a police officer back in February, in Pownal.

Vermont State Police were dispatched to the Ladd Brook Inn on Feb. 17 at approximately 3:09 p.m. for a reported restraining order violation.

Upon investigation, it was determined that Bryonna Prew, 23, of Pownal, had misled law enforcement by falsely implicating another individual in violating the restraining order.

Subsequent inquiries into the incident revealed that the accusation was unfounded.

On April 28, Prew was issued a citation and released with instructions to appear in court at a future date to respond to the charge of false information to a police officer.
