New Haven man survives shooting, police seek witnesses

NEW HAVEN — A 19-year-old man was shot and subsequently transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital by a private vehicle on April 28 at approximately 7:36 p.m., according to New Haven Police Department.

Upon arrival at the hospital located at 20 York Street, the victim, a resident of the city, was quickly taken to the emergency room.

The injuries he sustained were confirmed to be non-life-threatening.

Following the initial treatment, detectives were dispatched to the hospital to interview the victim in hopes of gathering more information about the incident.

The New Haven Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and is working to identify the location of the crime scene.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the shooting or who might have witnessed the event to come forward.
