Massachusetts man arrested for fraudulent vehicle registrations

NASHUA — A Massachusetts man has been arrested for using fraudulent documents to obtain multiple vehicle registrations in New Hampshire, according to state police.

The New Hampshire State Police were alerted to the scheme after suspicious documents were submitted to the Nashua City Clerk’s Office.

The Troop G Investigations Unit acted on the information and arrested 48-year-old Christopher Chiras of Worcester, Massachusetts, earlier today, April 24.

Chiras was taken into custody without incident and faces charges including two counts of tampering with public records or information, two counts of forgery, and 19 counts of unsworn falsification.

He is scheduled for arraignment at the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua on June 12 at 8:15 a.m.

Authorities are asking anyone with further information to contact Detective Nick Quintiliani.
