Manchester man arrested after firing gun into air

MANCHESTER — A Manchester man was arrested late Thursday night after police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and discovered he had fired a gun several times into the air.

Authorities arrived at 747 Grove St. around 10:39 p.m. where they encountered Setarbosnai Rivas, 36, who admitted to discharging the firearm.

According to the Manchester Police, an argument had escalated leading Rivas to fire the weapon.

No injuries or property damage were reported from the incident.

Officers recovered shell casings and multiple firearms at the scene.

Rivas was taken into custody and faces charges of Reckless Conduct and Criminal Threatening.

He is scheduled for arraignment at Hillsborough Superior Court – North on April 29.
