BENNINGTON — A New York man was cited for driving nearly 40 mph over the speed limit on US Route 7, Vermont State Police said.
Charles Gregory Nyman, 68, of Atlantic Beach, NY, was clocked by radar traveling north at 94 mph in a zone where the posted speed limit is 55 mph near mile marker 17 at approximately 6:38 p.m. on April 26.
Following a traffic stop, Nyman was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on June 24 at 8:15 a.m. to answer to the charge of excessive speed.
In addition to the court citation, Nyman received a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for speeding.
The waiver amount for this violation is set at $586.
