MONKTON — Two teenagers were hospitalized early Thursday morning after a single-vehicle crash on Boro Hill Road.

At 2:21 a.m., Troopers responded to reports of an accident where a 2009 Subaru Outback, driven by a 16-year-old from New Haven, lost control while rounding a corner.

The vehicle skidded on the gravel shoulder and rolled down a steep embankment before coming to a stop, flipped over on its passenger side against two trees.

The driver and their passenger, also 16, from Salisbury, were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Both sustained suspected moderate injuries and were transported to Porter Medical Center.

The Subaru Outback was reported as totaled.

The clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the incident have not offered any immediate explanation for the loss of control.

Authorities are investigating the crash further.
