East Wallingford store front smashed in ATM theft attempt

EAST WALLINGFORD — An attempted theft at the Jiffy Mart on April 25 resulted in significant property damage after a suspect drove a vehicle through the store’s front door in an effort to steal an ATM machine.

Vermont State Police were alerted to the incident at 4:33 a.m. when an alarm was triggered at the location.

Upon arrival, authorities found the store’s entrance shattered and the ATM machine partially dislodged.

Investigators have identified the suspect’s vehicle as an older model, grey Ford F-150 with a “AAA” sticker on the side and a cap over the bed.

The suspect fled the scene and has not been apprehended.

State Police are requesting the help of the community to locate the individual responsible for the crime.
