GRAFTON — A coordinated search involving multiple law enforcement agencies led to the safe recovery of an 8-year-old child who was reported missing from Tulip Circle earlier this evening.

The Grafton Police Department received a report of the missing child at about 5:55 p.m. and immediately began a preliminary investigation and search.

With nightfall approaching, Sgt. Michael Swift made the decision to request additional resources, and assistance from the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Drone and K9 units, as well as the Massachusetts State Police, was promptly secured.

The rapid response from the collaborating agencies allowed for an intensive search to commence swiftly.

The child was fortunately located safe in a nearby unit, easing the concerns of the community and family involved.

While the child was not in danger, the incident served as a testament to the community’s ability to mobilize quickly and work together in emergency situations.
