WRENTHAM — Wrentham Police and Fire Departments responded to a call this afternoon after a deceased male was found by a local resident walking on the trail behind the CVS store.

Police Chief Bill McGrath confirmed that at approximately 3:45 p.m., a woman walking along the old railroad bed/trail spotted the body.

Authorities were dispatched to the scene where they confirmed the individual was deceased.

The Wrentham Police Department has commenced an investigation into the incident.

However, Chief McGrath stated that there is no suspicion of foul play, the circumstances surrounding the death are not believed to be suspicious, and there is no cause for public concern.

In light of the body being discovered in a public area and the community’s expressed concerns, the department decided to inform the public about the situation despite their general policy not to post when they respond to calls regarding deceased persons.

The investigation remains ongoing, but no further information is expected to be released by the police at this time.
