RIPTON — A local man was cited for larceny and unlawful trespass following an incident involving stolen firewood, Vermont State Police reported Monday.

James Webb, 66, allegedly traveled to a neighbor’s property on Lincoln Rd., cut up firewood, and transported it back to his residence on April 22.

The New Haven Barracks of the Vermont State Police received the complaint the same day and launched an investigation into the matter.

Webb, who resides on Lincoln Rd., has been ordered to appear in Addison County Court on Aug. 12 at 12:30 p.m. to face charges.

The court will address the allegations of theft and trespassing at that time.
