Massachusetts man faces charges for fraudulent vehicle registrations

NASHUA — A Massachusetts man was arrested today for allegedly using fake documents to illegally obtain multiple vehicle registrations, according to the New Hampshire State Police.

Christopher Chiras, 48, of Worcester, was taken into custody by members of the Troop G Investigations Unit after the Nashua City Clerk’s Office flagged suspicious documents submitted for vehicle registrations.

Chiras is charged with two counts of tampering with public records or information, two counts of forgery, and 19 counts of unsworn falsification.

The arrest occurred without incident earlier in the day on April 24.

Chiras is set to appear before the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua on June 12 at 8:15 a.m.
