WRENTHAM — After a black bear was spotted attempting to raid a bird feeder on April 21, Wrentham Police Department is urging residents to remove bird feeders and secure their trash to avoid attracting wildlife.

Police Chief Bill McGrath relayed the message from Animal Control Officer Lexi, who reported the bear sighting on Foxboro Road.

The bear was seen trying to access bird seed from a feeder hanging near a homeowner’s porch window.

McGrath advised the community to take down any bird feeders and exercise caution when disposing of trash or leaving food outside, recommending that such activities be avoided if possible.

Residents who encounter a bear or other wildlife are encouraged to report sightings to ACO Klenk.

Any sightings can be reported via email to [email protected].
