RUTLAND — Two individuals were taken into custody early Sunday morning after a Vermont State Police traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected cocaine.

Christina Kittredge, 43, of Rutland, and Shaun Savage, 46, of Hartford, Connecticut, face cocaine possession charges following the stop on West Street around 1:02 a.m.

Troopers conducted the vehicle stop due to a violation they observed.

While engaging with the vehicle’s occupants, indicators of drug activity were noticed.

After gaining consent to search the car, troopers found suspected cocaine on both Savage and Kittredge.

The suspects were transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.

They were later released with a citation to appear in Rutland County Superior Court to answer to the charges.
