Milo man arrested for shooting at relative, faces attempted murder charges

MILO — A local man was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly firing a gun at a family member during a domestic dispute, according to the Milo Police Department.

Officers responded to a report of weapon discharge on Pleasant River Road around 6:35 p.m. The victim, who had called 911, claimed his son-in-law, David Barry, 53, shot at him multiple times and reloaded the pistol during the altercation.

No injuries were reported as all shots fired missed the victim.

Barry, found to be intoxicated at the scene, was taken into custody without resistance.

Law enforcement officials removed several firearms from the residence for safety.

The suspect is now being held at Piscataquis County Jail on charges including attempted murder, attempted aggravated assault, and domestic violence involving reckless conduct and criminal threatening with a firearm.

The Milo Police Department acknowledged the assistance of the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department and the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office in the response to the incident.
