Driver faces DUI, negligent driving charges after Waterbury traffic stop

WATERBURY — A 31-year-old Stowe man was arrested and charged with DUI and negligent operation following a traffic stop on VT RT 100 near the Waterbury-Stowe town line.

At about 1:35 p.m. on April 19, Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to several calls reporting a vehicle being driven negligently on Interstate 89 in Waterbury.

After locating the vehicle on VT RT 100, Troopers carried out a traffic stop, observing the driver’s continued negligent behavior.

The driver, identified as Anthony Kryzak of Stowe, displayed signs of impairment, according to the Troopers.

Following field sobriety tests, Kryzak was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI.

Kryzak was processed at the Stowe Police Department, where he was formally charged with DUI-D and negligent operation of a vehicle.

Further details on his arraignment and potential court dates have not been released at this time.
