Woman cited for vehicle theft, driving with suspended license in Johnson

JOHNSON — A woman was cited for operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent and driving with a suspended license after a stolen vehicle was spotted at a local Maplefields, authorities said Tuesday.

The Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call at 4:39 p.m. on April 18 regarding a suspicious vehicle at the Maplefields on Route 15 in Johnson.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from Montgomery earlier that day.

A Vermont Warden Service officer located a suspect matching the description given by law enforcement while walking on Route 100C near School Street.

Responding Troopers identified the suspect as Alexis Pelletier, 28, who is currently homeless and previously resided in St. Albans.

Pelletier admitted to stealing the vehicle belonging to Karie Quintin, 43, of Montgomery.

Following her arrest, Pelletier was released with a citation to appear at the Lamoille County Superior Criminal Division at a date to be determined.
