SPRINGFIELD — A man was cited for simple assault at a local redemption center, police said Thursday.
Barry Newton was accused of assaulting a victim at the Springfield Redemption Center on Chester Road, according to a Springfield Police Department press release.
Officer Singleton responded to the reported assault at about 10:24 a.m. on April 12, the release stated.
After an investigation, Newton was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on June 11.
The police clarified that matters of bail and incarceration are determined by the judicial system, not the police department.
