Two injured in separate car crashes in Orleans County

DERBY — Two drivers sustained non-life threatening injuries in separate car accidents in Orleans County on Thursday.

The first crash occurred at 8:31 a.m. on VT Route 14 near North Craftsbury Road.

Sara Bonillacextary, 28, of Orleans, was driving south when her vehicle veered off the road. The 2022 Jeep Compass she was driving was totaled. Bonillacextary, who was wearing her seatbelt, was transported to North Country Hospital by Craftsbury Fire and Hardwick EMS units.

Later at 12:37 p.m., a second accident was reported in Derby on Pine Hill Road.

Holly Hartwell, 56, of Lyndon, crashed her 2015 Buick Regal into a tree. Hartwell sustained injuries and was taken to North Country Hospital. Newport Fire and EMS teams responded, with support from the Orleans Sheriff’s Office.

Both incidents are under further investigation by the Vermont State Police.
