Duxbury crash leads to DUI, multiple charges for Barre woman

DUXBURY — A two-vehicle collision on VT RT 100 near Lavanway Rd resulted in multiple charges for a 24-year-old Barre woman on April 17.

Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the scene at 5:14 p.m., where they found a single white vehicle in a ditch and the driver, identified as Harley Porter, reportedly yelling at fire and EMS personnel.

The driver of the second vehicle, a Kubota tractor, was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington for treatment.

During the interaction with Porter, troopers observed signs of impairment.

She was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and transported to the State Police Berlin Barracks for processing.

Furthermore, Porter faces charges of gross negligent operation, assault on a protected professional, and disorderly conduct.

After processing, Porter was issued a citation to appear in the Washington County Superior Court – Criminal Division and was released.

Traffic on Rt 100 was temporarily closed during the crash investigation and reopening once the area was deemed safe.

The incident remains under investigation.
