CORINTH — A man with four outstanding arrest warrants was taken into custody on April 17 after a welfare check by state troopers led to his discovery.

Christopher Kirk, 49, was arrested around 11 a.m. when troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were checking on an individual who had not shown up for work for several days, according to Vermont State Police.

During the investigation, troopers encountered Kirk, who was wanted on several charges including fentanyl trafficking, possession of a depressant, stimulant, and narcotic drugs, and violation of conditions of release, among others.

Kirk, a Corinth resident, was also charged with DUI-Drug, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, reckless or gross negligent vehicle operation, and providing false information to law enforcement.

He was transported to the Orange County Courthouse in Chelsea where he was arraigned.

The court released Kirk on a $1,000 appearance bond with updated conditions of release.
