Montpelier police arrest woman following transit center altercation

MONTPELIER — A 21-year-old Montpelier woman was arrested on charges of simple assault after an incident at the city’s transit center, police said.

Authorities responded to a report of a brawl outside the transit center on Taylor Street at 5:26 p.m. on April 6.

The Montpelier Police Department, assisted by the Montpelier Ambulance Service, found an individual who had been injured in the altercation and transported the victim to the hospital.

Officer Quinn Montes, the investigating officer, determined there was probable cause to arrest the Montpelier woman, whose identity was not immediately released.

Police have not released the name of the suspect at this time.
