Lyndon teen arrested on suspicion of DUI after vehicle found in ditch

LYNDON — A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Friday morning after Vermont State Police found a vehicle off the road in a ditch.

At about 3:03 a.m. on April 14, troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were patrolling the area of Gilman Rd and Red Brick Rd when they came upon the vehicle.

Upon interacting with the young driver, they observed signs of impairment.

The youth was taken into custody and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

Following the arrest, the juvenile received a citation to appear in Caledonia County Family Court on the DUI charge.

The operator was released to the custody of a sober adult pending their court appearance.

The Vermont State Police did not release the name of the juvenile due to their status as a youthful offender.
