Providence man arrested in hit-and-run case involving serious injuries

PROVIDENCE — A local man was arrested for a hit-and-run crash in Providence.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Friday, April 12, members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, apprehended Monterius Foster, 30, on charges stemming from a serious hit-and-run incident.

Foster, a resident of 169 Canal Street, Apartment 1304, was arrested on the strength of an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant issued by the Providence Police Department for causing serious bodily injury.

The arrest, executed without incident, was the culmination of an investigation led by the Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Foster was subsequently handed over to local authorities at the scene.
