Worcester police probe fatal shooting of 24-year-old man

WORCESTER — Worcester Police Department officers were dispatched to Allendale Street following a Shotspotter alert at approximately 2:19 a.m. on April 13, where they discovered a 24-year-old male unresponsive on the scene.

Upon arrival, the officers immediately provided aid to the victim before he was transported to a local hospital.

Despite their efforts, the young man was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the medical facility.

The Worcester Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death.

Detectives are seeking information from the public to aid in their inquiry.

Authorities have urged anyone with knowledge about the incident to come forward.

The Worcester Police Detective Bureau is also accepting calls directly at (508) 799-8651 regarding the case.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
