GILSUM — Authorities have charged 29-year-old Alexander Bazarnicki with two counts of negligent homicide following a fatal collision on Route 10 that claimed the lives of David and Kathleen Bosma.

The crash, which occurred on March 29, led to the deaths of the Bosma couple after sustaining serious injuries.

Bazarnicki, who was initially arrested for driving while intoxicated after the crash, turned himself into the Cheshire County House of Corrections on April 11.

He was processed and released on bail, with an arraignment scheduled for April 15 at the Keene District Court.

The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Unit, in collaboration with Troopers from the Troop C Barracks, conducted the investigation that resulted in the charges against Bazarnicki.

The initial crash took place at 6:20 p.m. at 644 Route 10, with a 2023 Ford Transit van driven by Bazarnicki colliding with a 2021 Kia Seltos driven by 81-year-old David Bosma.

Both David Bosma and his passenger, Kathleen Bosma, were airlifted to separate hospitals for treatment of their injuries but later succumbed to those injuries.

The CAR Unit, along with local emergency responders, including the Keene Fire Department, the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office, Gilsum Fire Department, and J&J Truck Service & Towing, assisted at the scene of the accident.

Investigators are continuing to examine all factors involved in the collision.
