Lewiston pedestrian seriously injured in vehicle collision

LEWISTON — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a motor vehicle in Lewiston on April 10 at approximately 8:27 p.m., authorities said.

Lewiston Police responded to the scene at the intersection of Sabattus Street and College Street, where they found 57-year-old Margaret “Peggy” Pooler with serious injuries.

Emergency personnel immediately transported Pooler to Central Maine Medical Center, where she was listed in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police officials.

The area around the intersection was temporarily closed to traffic as emergency crews attended to the situation but has since been reopened.

The Lewiston Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
