Sturbridge police seek suspects in Old Navy vandalism

STURBRIDGE — A group of unidentified males is being sought by police after they allegedly set off a “chalk popper” inside the Old Navy store at 100 Charlton Road on Saturday, causing over $1,300 in damage to merchandise.

According to the Sturbridge Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 6:19 p.m. when two individuals from the group triggered the device, which not only damaged clothing but also startled other customers with its loud noise.

All five males were present in the store during the time of the incident and appeared to be coordinating their actions.

They entered and exited the store within minutes of each other.

Authorities have released images of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

Officer Bradford Merkel is leading the investigation and urges anyone with information to come forward.
