EAST MILLINOCKET — A routine traffic obstruction led to the arrest of a Medway man on charges of operating under the influence and drug trafficking Saturday night, East Millinocket Police Department officials said.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., Officer Scelso responded to a report of a vehicle blocking an intersection with a driver unconscious behind the wheel.

Upon arrival, Scelso discovered Ted Fiske, 61, passed out in the driver’s seat.

Fiske was awakened by the officer and appeared to be under the influence.

A roadside investigation ensued, which resulted in Fiske’s arrest for operating under the influence (OUI).

A subsequent search of Fiske’s vehicle uncovered more than 25 grams of suspected fentanyl.

Sergeant Clayton conducted a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) evaluation on Fiske, who was determined to be drug-impaired.

Fiske was then transported to Penobscot County Jail (PCJ) and charged with operating under the influence of drugs and unlawful trafficking of Schedule W drugs.
