New Haven teen survives early morning shooting, police investigate

NEW HAVEN — Police are investigating after an 18-year-old was shot and subsequently dropped off at St. Raphael’s campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital early Friday morning.

Officers responded to the hospital at 1450 Chapel Street at approximately 1:50 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting victim.

The young man from New Haven was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives have been in contact with the victim, and patrol officers are actively searching for the location of the crime scene.

The New Haven Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
