STAMFORD — Stamford Police Department’s Family Services Unit executed a search and seizure warrant on April 5 at a Norwalk residence as part of an investigation into allegations of inappropriate touching by a male teacher involving 12 juvenile victims.

The investigation began after the Department of Children and Families alerted the police on Feb. 23 about the allegations made by female students at Strawberry Hill Elementary School.

The students reported being inappropriately touched by the teacher within the school premises.

Forensic interviews with the victims revealed details about their encounters with the teacher.

Andrew Park, the accused teacher, was arrested and charged with 12 counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and 12 counts of risk of injury to a minor.

A court set his bond at $175,000 ahead of his court appearance scheduled for April 8.

The Stamford Police Department has been in constant communication with the superintendent’s office of Stamford Public Schools throughout the investigation.

Additional victims and evidence are still being sought as the investigation continues.
