CANAAN — The Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on VT Rt 102 near Todd Hill Rd in Canaan yesterday at around 6 p.m.

Christie Schooner, 44, of Colebrook, NH, lost control of her vehicle, a 2016 Ford Explorer, and collided with a telephone pole.

The incident occurred amid snowy weather and wet road conditions, with temperatures hovering near the freezing point. Schooner, who was wearing a seatbelt, did not sustain any injuries in the crash.

There was significant front-end damage to her vehicle.

Authorities indicated that the slick road surface likely contributed to the accident. The Stratford NH Fire Department, C4 Automotive, and the Vermont Electric Coop were called to the scene to provide assistance and address the aftermath of the crash.

Investigations into the exact cause are ongoing.
