Williamstown man faces multiple charges after Dollar General disturbance

WILLIAMSTOWN — A local man was arrested Tuesday evening after causing a disturbance at a Dollar General store, according to state police.

At around 5:40 p.m., troopers were called to the store at 31 Business Center Rd. following reports of an intoxicated individual causing damage and refusing to leave the premises.

Employees said the man, later identified as Paul Giacherio III, 39, of Washington, was stumbling around the store, breaking items, and ignoring requests to vacate the property.

Authorities located Giacherio walking along Route 14 in Williamstown.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Berlin State Police Barracks for processing.

Giacherio faces charges including violation of conditions of release, disorderly conduct, unlawful mischief, unlawful trespass, and possession of a controlled substance.

He was released with a citation to appear in Orange County Superior Court—Criminal Division on April 5 at 12:30 p.m.
