Rutland man arrested for DUI after crash on snowy Farrell Road

RUTLAND — Vermont State Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Farrell Road at about 8:13 p.m. Wednesday, where they arrested a Burlington man on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Authorities identified the driver as James Caudell, 62, who was operating a 2008 Subaru Outback when he was involved in a minor collision.

The vehicle sustained minor front-end damage, and no injuries were reported at the scene.

Upon investigation, State Police observed several indicators that Caudell was impaired.

He was taken into custody and later issued a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court – Criminal Division.

The snowy weather and wet road conditions were noted at the time of the crash.

Further details regarding the incident have not been released as the investigation is ongoing.
