DERBY — A single-vehicle accident involving a 2017 Ford Escape occurred late Thursday night on Main Street leaving the driver unharmed despite snowy conditions.

Eduard Trinkl, 36, of Barton, was traveling at about 30 mph when his vehicle began to fishtail, causing him to veer off the east side of the roadway and crash into a utility pole.

The Vermont State Police responded to the scene shortly before midnight.

According to the VSP, Trinkl was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.

The utility pole remained intact, and the Ford Escape sustained minor front-end damage.
