Cranston man charged with cyber harassment, Providence resident faces drug and firearm charges

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police’s ACI Investigations Unit charged a local man with cyberstalking and cyber harassment on April 4.

Michael Carbary, 34, with a last known address of 30 Howard Avenue, was arraigned in Third District Court following the charges.

He was held on surety bail and turned over to the custody of the Sheriffs Department.

In a separate incident on the same day, the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force arrested Martin Vinas Abreau, 25, from the second floor of 162 Hamilton Street, Providence.

Abreau faces multiple drug and firearm charges, including possession with intent to deliver Schedule II controlled substances, such as fentanyl and LSD, and psilocybin mushrooms.

Additionally, he is charged with possession of a firearm during a controlled substance violation and possession of large-capacity feeding devices.

Abreau was taken to the Lincoln Barracks for processing.

After being arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, he was held overnight at the Adult Correctional Institutions Men Intake Center, pending a formal arraignment in Sixth Division District Court.
