One dead, two injured in head-on collision in Lincoln

LINCOLN — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lincoln Acting Chief of Police Sean Kennedy confirmed an ongoing investigation into a fatal crash that occurred at 9:13 a.m. today on Route 117 in Lincoln.

The preliminary investigation shows that a Jeep Wrangler heading west and a Chevy Silverado traveling east collided head-on in the eastbound lane near Sweet Bay Lane.

The driver of the Jeep was taken to Emerson Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

A passenger in the Jeep and the driver of the Silverado were transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Route 117 was shut down between Route 126 and the Concord town line following the accident but has since been reopened.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Lincoln Police, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Reconstruction Section are carrying out the ongoing investigation.

Officials are withholding the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
