Law enforcement task force cracks down on narcotics in Lawrence

LAWRENCE — A collaborative effort between the Lawrence Police Department’s Street Narcotics Enforcement Unit, Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit, and Billerica Police Department detectives led to a significant drug bust on Boxford Street after executing a search warrant stemming from an extensive investigation.

The operation, aimed at addressing quality of life issues such as illegal narcotics sales and prostitution, resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of drugs and cash.

Two Lawrence men face serious charges in the aftermath of the raid.

Yan Carlos Nunez-Andujar, 39, has been charged with two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute and drug trafficking.

Rolando Leonel Pena Mateo, 44, was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute.

Both men have been arraigned in Lawrence District Court.

Additionally, a 37-year-old Lawrence male, whose name has not been released, was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute and four counts of drug trafficking.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Lawrence District Court.

The Lawrence Police Department is actively encouraging residents to report drug-related activities by utilizing various anonymous reporting methods.
