New Bedford man arrested after north-end shooting

NEW BEDFORD — A local man has been placed under arrest following a shooting in the city’s north-end neighborhood Monday night.

On April 1, at around 9:30 p.m., patrol units from the New Bedford Police Department responded to a reported hit-and-run accident at the intersection of Earle St. and Ashley Blvd., where it was also reported that gunfire had occurred.

Additional details on the incident, including the identity of the suspect and the circumstances leading up to the arrest, were not immediately available.
