Two injured in Clarendon collision on US RT 7

CLARENDON — A two-vehicle crash on US RT 7 near N Shrewsbury Road resulted in minor injuries and substantial vehicle damage on April 1.

Vermont State Police reported that at approximately 11:49 a.m., a collision occurred involving a 2009 Volvo XC70, driven by Ronald Roberts, 60, from Shrewsbury, and a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Marsha Bailey, 67, from Charlestown, New Hampshire.

According to the investigation, Roberts was traveling south on US RT 7 and attempted to turn left onto N Shrewsbury Road when Bailey, traveling north, collided with Roberts’ vehicle.

The impact sent Bailey’s Jeep into a traffic control pole, where it came to an uncontrolled stop.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Roberts sustained minor injuries, while Bailey was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Each vehicle suffered substantial damage to the front end.

The Clarendon Fire Department and Regional Ambulance Service provided assistance at the scene.

The road conditions were dry, and the weather was clear at the time of the incident.
