Rollover crash in New Haven takes out powerline

NEW HAVEN — A single-vehicle rollover accident occurred early Saturday morning, leaving a snapped telephone pole and causing the driver to flee the scene.

New Haven Police Department, New Haven Fire Department, and American Medical Response (AMR) responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Kimberly Avenue and The Boulevard around 1:35 a.m. where they found wires down in the roadway and a red pickup truck involved in the crash.

A female with blood on her face reportedly arrived at a local Mobil Gas Station shortly after the incident, although it is unclear whether she was involved in the crash.

United Illuminating (UI) was requested to assess and address the damaged telephone pole.

The area has been blocked off by NHPD as they continue the investigation.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the driver who fled on foot or the condition of the injured woman.

The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
