Hartland man arrested for multiple violations during traffic stop

HARTLAND — Troopers with the Vermont State Police arrested 58-year-old Kenneth Carter during a traffic stop on US Route 5 for driving with a criminally suspended license and violating conditions of his release.

The traffic stop occurred on March 31 at 6:03 p.m. when Carter was pulled over for a traffic infraction and found to be non-compliant with court-ordered conditions not to operate a vehicle without a valid license.

Additionally, Carter had an outstanding in-state arrest warrant related to a previous incident of driving with a criminally suspended license.

Carter, a resident of Hartland, was taken into custody without incident and processed at the Hartford Police Department.

He was released with citations to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windsor Criminal Division on April 1 at 12:30 p.m. for his warrant and on May 21 at 8:00 a.m. for the new charges.
