Two hospitalized, man charged with DUI after Gilsum crash

GILSUM — A collision in Cheshire County led to serious injuries for two individuals and the arrest of a man on charges of impaired driving, authorities said.

At 6:20 p.m. on Friday, March 29, New Hampshire State Troopers from Troop C barracks were dispatched to 644 Route 10 in Gilsum for a reported crash.

Upon arrival, they encountered a two-vehicle collision involving a 2023 Ford Transit van heading north and a 2021 Kia Seltos traveling south.

The Kia’s driver, 81-year-old David Bosma, suffered serious injuries and was initially taken to Cheshire Medical Center.

He was subsequently airlifted by a DHART medical helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for further treatment.

Kathleen Bosma, a passenger in the Kia, was also airlifted by DHART to Concord Hospital due to serious injuries.

Alexander Bazarnicki, 29, the Ford Transit van’s driver, was arrested at the scene for driving while intoxicated.

Following his release on bail, Bazarnicki is expected to appear in Keene District Court.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Unit, requested by Troop C, took over the investigation’s lead.

Support at the scene was provided by the Keene Fire Department, Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office, Gilsum Fire Department, and J&J Truck Service & Towing.
