Southbury police respond to box truck accident on Strongtown Road

SOUTHBURY — At around 3 p.m. on March 29, Southbury Police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a Ryder box truck on Strongtown Road near Vista View Drive.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a tree limb had fallen onto the truck, shattering its front windshield.

The driver of the vehicle managed to self-extricate before the police arrived and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The incident caused temporary traffic delays while emergency services worked to clear the debris and ensure the safety of the roadway for other motorists.
