Man injured in accidental gun discharge at Ipswich brewery

IPSWICH — A man was injured at a local brewery Friday afternoon when a gun he was carrying accidentally discharged, according to the Ipswich Police Department.

Chief Paul Nikas reported that officers were called to True North Ale, located at 116 County Road, at approximately 5:17 p.m. following reports of a gunshot being fired.

Upon arrival, police found that the man had been shot in the brewery’s dining area due to the accidental discharge of his firearm.

Emergency medical personnel provided immediate assistance at the scene, and the injured man was transported to a nearby hospital.

The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed.

The Ipswich Police Department is investigating the incident, and no further details were immediately available.

Authorities have not released the identity of the man or any information about potential charges related to the incident.
