1 min read

JAY — A two-car collision occurred near Jay Peak Ski Resort on March 24 at about 6:52 a.m., resulting in traffic delays but no injuries, according to the State Police.

Charles Ellis, 37, of Kensington, MD, was driving a 2022 Tesla Model 3 when he struck a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek operated by Thomas Latta, 69, of Newport.

Both vehicles sustained damage to the front and driver’s side, but both drivers were wearing seat belts and did not require hospitalization.

The collision happened as snow covered the roads, making driving conditions hazardous.

The Jay Fire Department responded to the scene to assist and manage the increased traffic on the mountain.

Traffic was reduced to one lane for nearly two hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
